“The Scroll”, an online news portal, carried an article on 14th October 2015, about the Services Demand for a “National War Memorial”, stating that there are ‘…thousands…’ of ‘War Memorials’ hence, there was no need for another.
My comments posted in the magazine about the article on the same day are given below. I have not received any response:-
Dear Owners and Editor of “The Scroll”,
Either you or the writer or both are deliberately and singularly Anti-Army & Anti-National because you choose to deliberately lie.
None of the ‘Numerous War Memorials’ listed in the ‘Above Paras’ and the pictures printed are “National Memorials”.
The Army, Army Formations, Army Families and Grateful People of the areas whose lands were saved or men brought back alive PAY & RAISE these Memorials as PRIVATE WAR MEMORIALS.
Some ungrateful people like you and The Politicians at large have NOT MADE ANY.
It is not very long now for people to shun the very IDEA of NATIONAL SERVICE, not due to poor pay for a lot of sacrifices, but also because News Portals like yours are deliberately creating a sentiment in the Nation which shuns selfless NATIONAL SERVICE.
Have you Sir, verified the write-up before publishing it? Did you Sir, even for a moment stop to think that all those Soldiers demanding a “War Memorial” cannot be wrong on fact & to be claiming the untruth for 60 Years?
If no, why should you and your portal not be pulled up for Delibrate Anti-National Propaganda? Will that be curtailing “FREE SPEECH” or preventing Anti-National Propaganda?
I DARE YOU TO PUBLISH THIS LETTER OR REMOVE THE ARTICLE WHICH IS A DELIBRATE UNTRUTH WRITTEN WITH AN INTENT TO CREATE MISGIVINGS ABOUT A NATIONAL SERVICE.
Many places where martyred soldiers are laid have Memorials, PAID BY GRATEFUL FAMILIES & BENEVOLENT PATRIOTIC CITIZENS while YOU & YOUR PORTAL ALLOWS CANARDS & ANTI-NATIONAL PROPAGANDA.
With no regards for Anti-National people like you,
